In the 3rd century BC, on his mission and journeys through the Hindu Kush range, Alexander the Great and his troops left their footprints and descendants to what is today called the Kalash Valley, home to an ethnic community in Pakistan who are blue-eyed and have fair skin.The Kalash valley and its people are known worldwide for their unique, yet less heard and seen, culture, religion, language, festivals, and their everyday lifestyle. The Valley is surrounded by Tirchmir mountain ranges. Due to these mountain ranges, the valley has remained isolated from the outer world for a long time. This is one reason why their culture and rituals are still in their purest form.Kalash Festivals and culture are unique and fascinating.Kalashi people celebrate three festivals every year. Chilam Joshi, Uchal, and Chomos. Chilam Joshi being the most famous festival kicks off in the second week of May which is the spring festival. Uchal Festival happens in the Autumn season and Chomos festival happens in the mid winters.The three Valleys (Bumburate, Rambur, Birir) and their indigenous people are one of the reasons most of the foreigners come to Pakistan lately.
Pick up from international Airport Islamabad and transfer in hotel
We will make an early departure from designated spot in Islamabad for Dir at the foot of Lowari Pass, preferably crossed with 4 wheel drive vehicle. Winding over the Lowari Mountain is an interesting and rewarding experience. over night hotel.
Chitral Town is dominated by the view of distant Tirich Mir, the highest peak of Hindu Kush range of mountains. River Chitral is flowing through the town and offers superb views for photography. After breakfast we will leave for Garam Chasma, a sub valley of Chitral, famous for its Sulphur Springs and Trout fish. After spending some time in the valley we head back to hotel in Chitral for a night stay.
After spending some time in Chitral we will leave for Kalash Valley and check in to hotel at Bamburet. Visit to Kalash valley for explore the festival after that visit graveyard and school made with the help of the people of Greece would be an interesting addition. Participants can meet and interact with community members, teachers and local kids in their traditional dresses. Night stay will be in Bamburet.
Participants will get free day to get relaxed and enjoy the breathtaking views of the valley. Kalash are an exotic feature of the region, these tribes are contrasted to rest of the country. Their culture, religion, customs and habitat is unique and interesting. Optional trip to Rambur, another typical Kalash village can be organized.
We will leave early morning from Bamburet for a long drive to Phander valley Gilgit Baltistan via shandur top over night at hotel
Explore the phander Ghizer Valley then drive to gilgit. Gilgit is the capital city of Gilgit-Baltistan Region. Upon arrival we will check in to hotel and have some rest..
after breakfast visit gilgit local bazar and drive to amazing valley hunza check in hotel then visit Altit Baltit fort over at hotel
