Within the complex, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) houses Thailand’s most sacred Buddhist image, the Emerald Buddha, carved from a single block of jade. Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha)
Adjacent to the Grand Palace, Wat Pho houses a 46-metre gold reclining Buddha that fills an entire temple building. The feet alone are 5 metres long, inlaid with mother-of-pearl depicting the 108 auspicious characteristics of the Buddha. Wat Pho is also the birthplace of traditional Thai massage — the temple school has been teaching it for centuries.
